Olivewood is the name of our estate grown Frantoio olives. Home grown in our “front yard”.
It's a take-off of "Hollywood", as we are in the entertainment biz involved with Hollywood……. we are Olivewood. The opposite of Hollywood. Holly, as in the holly tree, is actually very poisonous. Olivewood was used in ancient times to craft holy items. The dove, in Noah's time, brought the olive branch as a sign of peace and hope restored--a promise fulfilled. Life!!! Olive oil is healing and healthful and can be used many life-giving ways. The olive tree is designed to withstand extreme temperatures and winds. The fruit from this tree is the result of the pure power of nature.
STEP OUTSIDE OUR FRONT DOOR……. Life in the Olivewood Olive Yards
Picture this: Gentle rolling hills, neatly planted rows. California, Central Valley, whose climate is similar to the olive producing Mediterranean. Hot summers, cold winters and gentle breezes. Oliveyards and vineyards right outside our front door of our terra cotta tiled Tuscan villa and olive oil winery… We have over 800 Frantoio olive trees that we personally oversee daily. This is our family-- all lined up in well manicured rows of vineyards and olive trees. We even have named some of our trees!! We are careful in watching our family grow through all the seasons. We walk our oliveyards everyday, rain or shine, and check on conditions and growth. We are astounded by the beauty our olive trees bring us year round.
We grow the best.
Our trees have character:
The rains come and cold weather drives the root system deeper into the ground, foundationally making a strong tree with good character. Good olives make good olive oil.
The King’s Oliveyard-
Our German Shepherd, King, a top bloodline protection dog (Schutzhund 3) loves to run the rows, he knows every inch of the oliveyard,--he knows what is supposed to be there and what is not. He does his daily perimeter check. It is not too often that an oliveyard gets its own shepherd, but King does a great job. No other critters are allowed to live in King’s oliveyard!!! The rows are green, natural flora is mowed and we get all kinds of compliments as to the beauty of our oliveyard.
